About us

Most financial help is built for the people with extreme situations: those with significant wealth, or those with a real financial crisis. If you're one of the many people that are somewhere in between, you're left with only a generic rule, or app for help.

I work with those people who feel stuck in the in between. People whose everyday choices are quietly holding them back. People navigating a big life transition. People who need an actual plan built around their real life, not a formula and not a template.

Here's the story for exactly why I started this, and how it can help you…

Why I started Leventhal Financial

I started Leventhal Financial because I wanted my job to provide meaningful change. I grew up working in service jobs, and the moments I loved most were never about the transaction. It was about being able to help someone. Being able to help someone walking away lighter than they walked in, with one less problem to worry about. Personal finance is something I'm good at and have always enjoyed doing. Digging into the numbers, spotting patterns, and finding the best option for every dollar. But I noticed early on that most people don't share in this interest, and I get that, you shouldn't have to. That's where I come in.

Financial help mostly exists for people in the extremes. If you have significant wealth, advisors will compete for your business because a percentage of your assets is worth their time. If you're in serious financial trouble, there's a legal and financial system built to help you through it. But almost everyone I know falls somewhere in between. They're earning a decent income, keeping their head above water, but really just surviving. They can never get individualized help because their situation isn't "big" enough for a traditional advisor and isn't "bad enough" for crisis intervention. The only solutions built for this group of people are apps and generic outdated formulas. You get the same 50/30/20 rule and auto-categorized spending apps everyone else does. It's not personal, and it's not built around how you actually live. I think that's backwards. This is the group with the most to gain from real help, and the least access to it.

Where this began

My interest in solving problems for people started in high school, working at a family-owned hardware store. People came to us because the big box stores couldn't tell them what they specifically needed. The right solution for a full-time plumber isn't the right solution for a parent who's never touched a pipe wrench. I loved figuring out the right answer for the person in front of me, not the generic one. That same instinct followed me through a business management degree and into a career in the banking and finance world, where I've spent years working with budgets and numbers professionally. Leventhal Financial is built on that same instinct for people and problem-solving.

Who I Work Best With

I tend to work best with two kinds of people. The first are people whose day-to-day choices, and lack of a plan (or lack of one that sticks), are quietly adding up and holding them back from real progress, from the things they really want.

The second are the people who are about to have a big life transition: having a kid, buying a home, starting a new job, where the habits and system that used to work suddenly don't anymore, and you are left looking around for a new plan, or maybe even realizing for the first time you need a plan.

If either of those sounds like you, that's exactly who I built this for. If neither does, that's fine too. I could write a whole book and still not describe your situation. And that's the whole point. Your life is unique, there is no one else exactly like you!

How I Work

My approach is built around your life, not a formula. If going to the movies or trying every new restaurant in town is your thing, we don't cut it just because it's not "needed." We build around it. Telling someone who loves eating out to meal prep chicken and rice every night isn't a plan, it's a punishment, and it will never stick. I look at where you actually are, and where you want to go, and then build the specific, workable path between the two, not a generic template an app will give you.

So, if you're ready to start working from a plan built around your life, schedule a call. I'd love to hear where you are and what you're working toward.
